Uudet luokkasäännöt voimaan 2013

Kansanveneiden kansainväliset luokkasäännöt muuttuvat vuodenvaihteessa. Uudet säännöt ovat voimassa 2013-2016.

Uudet, muuttuneet kohdat ovat luettavissa liitteenä olevista virallisista englanninkielisistä säännöistä punaisella merkittynä.

Vene-elektroniikkaa sallitaan nyt folkkareissakin hitusen aiempaa enemmän, mm. GPS on sallittu vekotin.  Eri asia on, kuinka tulkitaan kohtaa nopeus-, suunta- yms tietojen yhdistelystä:

Devices for the measurement of depth, speed through water, heading, timing and devices making use of the
Global Positioning System (GPS) are permitted, but it is prohibited for the instruments to correlate measured
data for depth and speed through water to any other measured data.

Pelastusliivit on veneestä nyt löydyttävä jokaiselle miehistön jäsenelle. Automaattiset paukkuliivit ja perinteiset liivit ovat sallittuja, samoin niiden yhdistelmät, kunhan kelluttavuus on 50 N.  

Myös hengausta koskevia sääntöjä on täsmennetty. Myötätuuliosuuksilla saa nyt roikottaa jalkoja laidan yli, mutta kryssillä jalkojen on yhä pysyttävä veneen puolella reiden puolivälistä alaspäin.   Roikkumista saa helpotytaa ainoastaan veneen normaaleilla köysillä,  ja uutuutena nyt myös käsikahvoilla istuinlaatikon reunassa.  Jalkaremmien käyttö on edelleen kisoissa kiellettyä. 

Hiking in accordance with CR 13.20 is the action of moving the crew's body weight as far to windward as
possible on an upwind course. It means it is acceptable to have the crew's body between the middle of the
thigh and feet outside the sheer line on a reaching or downwind course.

When hiking it is permitted to use the boat´s normal equipment in normal position to assist a member of the
crew moving the crew's body weight to windward but the crew's body between the middle of the thigh and
feet shall not be outboard of the sheer line.
Examples of normal equipment in normal position: Sheets, vang, seats, trim lines, rudder and tiller.
Lose or fixed handholds outside the cockpit coaming, not further forward than 200mm from the main
bulkhead, are permitted, minimum distance to sheer line 100mm.”
Examples of equipment not permitted as assist when hiking: Lifting straps, equipment mounted with the
purpose to assist when hiking and trim lines installed but without function.

Purjeentekijöille luokkasäännöissä on myös muutamia muutoksia, jotka kannattaa lukea huolella.
